Biography
Austin Henry Peer is a visual artist, musician and New Jersey native who received a B.F.A. from Alfred University and an M.F.A. from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. His work highlights the connections between graffiti, cartoons and abstract expressionism through material and aesthetics. In highlighting and drawing from these sources, Peer grapples with his relationship to reality and his position in the world. In reflecting the chaos, expressiveness and nonsense present in graffiti, cartoons and abstract expressionism, Peer's work simultaneously reflects the treachery of navigating life in the 2020's.
