In the past, the FAFSA form opened on October 1 of your student’s senior year in high school. To make sure you are FAFSA ready, follow the steps below.
1. Create your FSA ID
- To create an FSA ID, each person needs to go to and click “Create Account” in the upper right-hand corner. The application is available in English and Spanish.
- Determine if or which parent is considered a for the FAFSA.
