The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Green Energy Ohio Tour is a joint event coordinated by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State's Office of Sustainability and the city of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s Sustainability Commission. It provides opportunities for participants to view cost-saving renewable energy solutions being used in the area. The event is part of the American Solar Energy Society’s 22nd annual ASES National Solar Tour and the 15th annual Green Energy Ohio Tour. The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State Field House solar array has been a part of the Greater Akron Solar Tour in the past, but this is the first year for multiple tour sites in Portage County.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Green Energy Ohio Tour sites at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State include the solar array at the Field House, the Center for Architecture and Environmental Design, the Center for Architecture and Environmental Design’s USB Charging Pavilion and a university zero-emission vehicle. Sites in the city of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ include ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Cooperative Housing’s Franklin House with solar panels, the Bruder residence with solar panels and Standing Rock Cultural Arts Center Gallery with solar panels and solar battery generator.
