DI Hub Workshops on Simple Circuits provide basic concepts of circuitry for students to start a new learning journey.

This year, Koon-Hwee Kan and Pinyan Zhu, both faculty members in the School of Art, have opened themselves to new modes of thinking through a co-fellowship with the School of Peace and Conflict Studies and Design Innovation.

Nicholas Cindrich has been with Design Innovation longer than most staff have worked here.

Cindrich joined as a DI Fellow in spring 2021 and he added crew member to his resume shortly after in the fall. A senior mechatronics engineering technology major, he credits DI with expanding his breadth as an engineer.

Caitlyn Skilton, a DI Fellow, wanted to help others gain an appreciation for the chimney swift and its role in the environment. So, she decided to create an immersive experience in the Design Innovation Hub’s Blank_Lab.

With little to no sleep and just 36 hours – make that 37, if they remembered to set their clocks back – 10 student teams defined the future of aviation at SkyHack 2023.

An aviation-themed hackathon brings together students from all disciplines and challenges them to develop solutions for real-world aerospace challenges. 

Researchers with the Student Life Study wanted to find the heart of campus. Their search brought them to the Design Innovation Hub.

With Carson Bauer and Design Innovation, it was love at first sight.

“I took orientation and seeing all these things, I said, ‘There’s so much I want to do here,’” Bauer said.
