Members of the Ƶ community were invited to attend the inauguration of Beverly Warren as the 12th president of the university on May 1 in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the Ƶ Campus. A reception followed in the Ƶ Student Center Ballroom.
A week of activities and events leading up to the inauguration day celebrated student success and campus community achievements on Ƶ State’s eight campuses and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg. All events were free.
Events included the dedication of the Center for Undergraduate Excellence on April 28 and dedication of the Ƶ State . On April 30, there was a presidential tree planting at Manchester Field and a “Presidential Perspectives: A Discussion with Past and Present Ƶ State Presidents” that took place in the Ƶ Student Center Ballroom. The panel discussion, was moderated by CNN news anchor and Ƶ State alumna Carol Costello, featuring Warren and former Ƶ State presidents Michael Schwartz, Carol Cartwright and Lester Lefton.
Regional Campuses also hosted several events at their locations, including a barbeque for students and a tree planting in honor of Warren.
