In 2020-21, student journalists in the ������Ƶ State School of Media and Journalism responded to the nation’s turbulent news cycle — a once-in-a-century pandemic, a combative presidential election and nationwide protests in support of racial justice and equality — by digging in and covering these issues on a local level. Three students won prizes for their written papers submitted for the 2021 ������Ƶ State East Liverpool Earth Day Environmental Justice Virtual Conference.  The event took place April 24 with the theme “Rethinking Food: Equity, Plant-Based Consumption and Alternatives.” There were 29 papers submitted for judging.
