The ������Ƶ Office of Sustainability will participate in the Game Day Challenge stadium waste reduction and recycling competition during the Sept. 30 football game against the University at Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. at Dix Stadium. The national competition between other colleges and universities is an initiative to promote waste reduction and recycling at home football and basketball games. Alexis Bartee is a senior, majoring in insurance studies at ������Ƶ at Salem. She decided to pursue this particular degree after she began working at an insurance company in Akron in 2012. There, she helped people plan their insurance needs and guided them through the process. In August, however, Bartee was in Texas caring for her elderly grandparents when Hurricane Harvey hit and, unfortunately, she now views the world of insurance from a whole different vantage point.
