A New Course in Social Justice

Dr. Francisco Torres co-designed the course Topics in Social Justice in Teaching and Learning to address systemic barriers in teacher preparation, emphasizing the importance of critical engagement to combat inequities such as racism, sexism, and homophobia in schools and society. The course encourages pre-service teachers to reflect on their own backgrounds and to view themselves as change makers committed to dismantling systems of oppression through a foundation of love in education.

Enabling Change in Nigerian Education

Dr. Caroline Obiageli Emeka-Ogbonna, a Fulbright Visiting Scholar from Nigeria hosted by 蜜桃视频's Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, is developing a critical thinking curriculum for the Nigerian Defense Academy and the broader Nigerian educational system. Her work aims to foster sustainable behavioral change and social justice in educational engagements.

Black History Month 2025

Project NEXT: Navigating Excellence in Transition

Project NEXT is a nationally funded grant project at 蜜桃视频 that provides academic and career support services to undergraduate students with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants receive one year of assistance, including the use of Cognitive Support Technology and vocational rehabilitation services, to help them excel academically and transition smoothly into their chosen careers.
