A blaze burns the prairie grass that grows behind the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center during a controlled burning by the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Fire Department.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Fire Department to Perform Annual Prairie Burn

The protected prairie surrounding ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™s Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Monday, April 15, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon, to allow for new growth during the summer season.

The lecture series created in 2022 to honor the legacy of ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Professor Emeritus of Sociology Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., will feature Professor of Geography Chris Post, Ph.D., presenting â€œDeveloping and Interpreting the Wounded Student Markers at ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State†as this year’s selected speaker. The Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series and Luncheon will be held on May 3.
