The annual Rainbow Weekend in downtown ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ is a wonderful example of the outstanding "town-gown" relationship between ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ and the city of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. The celebration is presented by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State's LGBTQ+ Center and . One of the new events this year was the Drag Race 5K (formerly the Rainbow Run).
Proceeds from the Drag Race 5K and some other activities during the weekend are added to the university's LGBTQ+ Emergency Fund – a vital resource that helps LGBTQ+ students in need.
