The No. 15 ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ women’s golf team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after finishing the NCAA Lubbock Regional in sixth place at 11-over par 875 (305-287-283).
ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State entered the day tied with No. 2 UCLA in sixth place but held its ground and fought off a tough battle from Oregon State. The Beavers shot 10-under par Wednesday and briefly moved ahead of the Golden Flashes, but ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State recorded five birdies as a team over the final six holes, despite some late winds, to secure a two-stroke lead in sixth.
ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ celebrated its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State were conferred 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees.
University Libraries will provide opportunities for ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ students to shake off stress during finals week.
University Libraries will hold its semiannual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library. The event is open to all ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State students, faculty and staff.
The No. 12 ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ men’s golf team won its 24th Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship on April 30 at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Golden Flashes finished the four-round tournament with a score of 3-under par 1,149 (287-288-285-289), breaking its own four-round tournament record for team score. ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State won the tournament by 25 strokes, defeating second-place Ball State at 22-over par.
