Students in the associate degree in nursing program on the East Liverpool Campus were determined to hold a successful holiday collection to support the local Salvation Army, keeping alive a tradition that goes back several years. Work began in Fall 2020 and included the installation of 2,160 ground-mounted photovoltaic panels on the former site of Jammal Field. The Ashtabula solar array will provide 864 kilowatts (1,161,216 kilowatt hours) of clean energy each year, representing about 68 percent of campus use. The annual awards program, established in 1966, honors classified and unclassified employees who have dedicated 20 years of continuous service to the university.
