ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State to Honor Veterans on Nov. 9

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.

All are invited to come and pay tribute to America’s veterans. A special invitation is extended to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

A reception in the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Student Center Kiva.

The Mid-American Conference presented ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State with the Reese Trophy for the fifth straight year for men’s all-sports excellence during the MAC Honors Dinner at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. The Golden Flashes have now won eight Reese Trophies dating back to 2000.
