ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board of Trustees Approves Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new master’s degree that will help meet two decades of sustained growth in the broad field of conflict studies. The new Peace and Conflict Studies major within the Master of Arts degree will be offered in person on the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Campus and will prepare students for careers as practitioners in the fields of peace and conflict management and for doctorate study.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board of Trustees Welcomes Class of 2026, Approves Pizzuti Park Naming
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2026 at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 21 at the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Airport. ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State’s freshman class began classes on the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Campus nearly 7% larger than the previous year with 4,251 students – the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.

Governor Appoints Haley Dees to ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board as New Undergraduate Student Trustee
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Haley Dees of Lisbon, Ohio, to the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees as an undergraduate student trustee. Dees’ two-year term runs through May 16, 2024.

Governor Names Christian Palich to ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board of Trustees
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Christian Palich of Plain City, Ohio, to the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees. Palich will serve through May 16, 2031. Palich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009 from ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board of Trustees Approves Establishing University Operations in Rwanda, Africa
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees approved the establishment and registration of a Community Benefit Company in Rwanda, Africa, during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held May 25. ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State has realized an immediate need to establish a private limited company, designated as a not-for-profit Community Benefit Company, that can serve as a strategic starting point for engaging in the African continent’s expanding higher education market.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ State’s Regional Campuses. The program will be offered on the Ashtabula, Salem and Tuscarawas campuses.
